Enough to make you sick: Exxon Mobil logs largest profit in history!

Exxon Mobil has posted a net income of $14.83 billion, setting a national record for quarterly profit by a company.

In a conference call today, Exxon Mobil executives announced the company's third-quarter net profit of $14.83 billion, or $2.86 per share. That profit, up from $9.41 billion a year earlier, includes $1.45 billion in special items.

According to reports, the company's prior record was $11.68 billion in the second quarter of 2008 and this latest quarter's net income equates to $1,865.69 per second. The company's revenue totaled $137.7 billion in the third quarter.

I, for one, feel the need to take a stand against tax breaks for companies having windfall profits at the expense of Americans, and will do so at the polls.
