The Mil-Aero Command Post

Where great military and aerospace minds meet.

Rumor has it that SprayCool, aka ISR, recently had another round of layoffs. I'm thinking this is the fourth round of layoffs in roughly two years. I know the founders sold the company about that time. Today I read on milaero that the company has a new partnership with GE Fanuc and a contract with Northrop Grumman (both impressive). Anyone know anything? Are they just making the company lean and mean, so to speak?

SprayCool just revealed three new contracts and partnerships in the past two weeks -- clearly the industry should not yet "count them out."

SprayCool aside, I have talked to a wealth of companies that have been hit hard by the current economic climate -- many executives of which are hopeful (if not a bit dubious) that the upcoming election will bring optimism. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery of the U.S. dollar! I hear the exchange rate is $1.55 U.S. to 1 Euro.

Oh, and I should have mentioned that during the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum (http://mtc09.events.pennnet.com/fl/index.cfm) in March in San Diego, Jim Robles of Boeing said that the prime contractor is investigating spray-cooling technologies.
