How will the sagging economy influence defense spending?

What are your thoughts on how the sagging economy and Wall Street meltdown will influence U.S. and worldwide defense spending over the next several years? Please share your opinions with us. Also, do you have any concrete evidence of how the economy -- including the mortgage lender bailouts -- is affecting defense companies and their suppliers right now? Examples might be a noticeable drop in contracts, cancelled contracts, difficulty getting loans for normal business operations.
